Easy and quick homemade biscuit recipe

Biscuits are a favorite snack of both children and adults because they love its taste and crispiness. Thus, moms are always willing to try different biscuit recipes at home. Here is a simple and easy biscuit recipe which you can prepare at home within few minutes. This quick biscuit recipe needs only five basic ingredients that are easily available at every home.

Necessary ingredients:

  • Cold unsalted butter – 4 ounces
  • All purpose flour – 1 ½ cup (8 ounces)
  • Baking powder – 2 tsp
  • Kosher salt – 1 tsp
  • Whole milk – ¾ cup

Directions:

  1. The preparers first have to cut your cold unsalted butter into ¼ inch pieces.
  2. In the next step, you need to preheat the oven to 400 degree Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with the parchment paper. To try the alternative option, you can also grease a baking sheet with some amount of butter.
  3. Then, you should take a large bowl and mix all dry ingredients like all purpose flour, baking powder, and salt well.
  4. After that, you have to toss cold butter pieces into this mixer of dry ingredients until coated with the flour. You can make use of the hand for easy processing or use pastry blender to toss the butter pieces well into the flour. Alternatively, you can also try the reverse process that add flour mixer on the pieces of cold butter to form separate unbaked pieces.
  5. In the next step, you need to add milk and stir with the fork until it comes together into the slightly shaggy and sticky dough.
  6. You can prepare nearly 20 small biscuits or 8 large sized biscuits with these ingredients. For the small biscuits, you can use small ice cream scoop or a teaspoon to place the dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Instead you can use ¼ cup measuring scoop to mound the balls of prepared dough onto the baking sheet for making the large sized biscuits.
  7. The preparers need to bake all biscuits until golden brown color appears. It will take about 15 minutes cooking time for the small biscuits and 20 minutes cooking time for the large ones.
  8. After baked well, you can take off your prepare biscuits from the heat and let them cool. Then, you can server at the room temperature.
